Tuckahoe is located within the county of Henrico, west of the city of Richmond and is rich with history. Tuckahoe is actually registered as a National Historic Landmark and you can even visit Tuckahoe Plantation, where Thomas Jefferson lived for the first few years of his life. The name Tuckahoe is actually derived from a Native American word for a plant whose root was a major nutritional source in the 18th century up and down the eastern seaboard.
For decades, Tuckahoe has been seen as one of the best places to live within the Richmond area. The majority of the area has an older and more historic feeling to it with great houses, neighborhoods, and schools. Families have raved about how great it is to raise a family here.

Today, Tuckahoe is a highly regarded and sought after place to live within the Richmond area. It is home to approximately 48,000 people and out of those people, about 50% have children.
