Midlothian Virginia

Living in Midlothian

Located within Chesterfield County, just south of the James River, you will find Midlothian, Virginia. Midlothian is another area outside of the city of Richmond filled with history. Villages were first established in this area due to the coal mines, of which are believed to be the oldest in America. Before it was known as Midlothian, it was called Coalfield or Mid Lothian (after a coal mining center in Scotland). Some of the residents that remain there today are descendants of the original settlers who lived and worked in  “Coalfield”.

Now that you know about the past, let’s talk about the present. Today, Midlothian is home to approximately 73,000 people. Of the households in the area, 36% have children, with the average size of the household being 4.8 people. The households in the area average an income of about $109,000 a year. The median property value in Midlothian is $377,160.

A Little Bit About Me

cindy bennett richmond real estate

Cindy Bennett, Associate Broker, ABR, GRI, GREEN

I was born and raised in Chesterfield for most of my life. I did move around for a few years up and down the east coast and then when I decided to settle down, I found a place in Henrico, just next door to Chesterfield. I have been selling real estate now for over fifteen years and have been enamored with it since the beginning. I can multitask like a pro, which comes in handy when you work in real estate!

Still on the fence? Maybe one of my previous clients can convince you.

Bought a Single Family home in 2020 in Midlothian, VA. – We were first time home buyers in a new area with very little homebuying knowledge. Cindy came highly recommended by our financial advisor—and we wouldn’t have wanted to go through this process with anyone else. She was not only a steady, patient, savvy, honest, and knowledgeable guide from day one but also a comfortable presence that was not afraid to give experiential insight and still somehow managed to never asserted opinions or pressure. She was timely with responses and was skilled at breaking down the house buying process and terms in digestible nuggets. We were not the easiest people to work with; saw many houses and kept on changing our search criteria but she remained a patient advocate that pivoted with us at every turn. Once we found the house she proved to be invaluable with local connections for home repairs. Apparently she’s “got a guy” for everything. We enjoyed working with Cindy and are so grateful for her obvious strong work ethic and creative problem solving skills (especially amidst the process changes that surfaced with Covid-19). – Jake R.
