Well, with Christmas right upon us, everyone's thoughts seem to be on family, shopping, travel and parties. Just as it should be! There is still much news out there about the market, and what it's doing, and that has been a prime topic of conversation at every holiday gathering I've attended. My answer is always the same, and while it may sound a bit overly optimistic (I mean, selling homes is my living, after all) I really believe it to be true.

Homes are still selling! Every year around this time, there is certainly a lull and a quiet time. However, when the holiday "hangover" is finished, folks will be back in the market. The interesting thing is- homes are still selling, and still, for not that much less than sellers are asking, in many cases. They are just taking longer, on average.

The good news is that while activity is picking up, it is still a terrific buyer's market! If your plans for '08 include looking for and buying a new home, give me a call. There are lots of homes out there that are a great deal, and still lots of loans (despite all of the subprime fiascos). As we move into the new year, I'll be writing more about how to make those plans a reality, whether you're buying a new home, your first home, or your tenth.

Until then, have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
